(GROUP POST) Our Video - Script Draft.

Darren from Blueprint came into Sixth Form and spoke to us and gave us advice for our music videos. He spoke to us a whole class group and then in our individual groups. Our initial ideas for our music video were lots of literal narrative shots and shots of the band singing on stage but after speaking to Darren we have changed a few things.

The basic outline of our video is going to be based around a girl who has grown up and is looking at her life in the past and the present. Our potential actors include mine and Becka's family members and friends but this is yet to be confirmed. The video shall possibly start out with a quick shot of Alex, one of the band members, playing two notes on the piano to match the beat of the song. It will then cut to the first scene where my sister, Kate, who will be the eldest model, shall be laid on a bed having flashbacks to when she was a young happy child. In the second scene there will be shots of our eldest actor walking by a lake, this will be complemented with performance shots of the band, especially on some of the chorus. In the 3rd scene it will consist of narrative and performance shots to show a break up, this will probably include Kate and a male actor. The song contains a rap part which will contain performance and narrative shots, it is quite fast paced so the shots shall also cut quickly. The video shall end with footsteps walking towards and away from the camera with a bright light, this shall either be the band or our actors but we haven't decided yet.

The shots/movements that we are potentially going to use throughout the video are:

  • High Angles
  • Close Ups
  • Long Shots
  • Zooms
  • Focus Pull
  • Mid Shots
  • Fast/Slow pans
  • Dissolves
  • Fades
  • Extreme Close Ups
  • Under cranking and Over Cranking
  • Low Angles
