Potential Artist - Update.

We contacted a band called Raw Kadence and they have agreed to be filmed for our music video and seemed very interested, therefore this is the music artist we will be using. This is their cover of Swedish House Mafia's -Don't you worry child.

Potential Music Artist.

As we haven't had a reply from the other artists, we decided to contact a band called 'Raw Kadence', Becka sent an email to one of the Members and we hoping they agree to be filmed.

'To develop editing skills to make meaning clear'

I have learnt how to detach the audio, by right clicking on the shot that I want to disable sound from and clicking 'disable'. Then i replaced the audio with soundtrack from YouTube or iTunes. Becka and I used 'It's My Birthday' by Will.i.am and Cody Wise. After we got the soundtrack in my iTunes library we then clicked the music note below the event browser and inserted the track to the length of our film. Then once we matched all that up, we then added transitions to space it out a bit, this meant we also had to lengthen the audio. We used several transitions such as 'radical blurs' and also dissolves.

I have learnt how to use Final Pro Cut X and how to edit videos by detaching sound, changing the pace, using transitions and layering a music track over the film.

Responding to the Brief.

The A2 course

G324 Advanced portfolio in Media Brief 1

A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two ancillary tasks: a digipak for the album's release and a magazine advertisement for the digipak.

Initial ideas
My initial ideas are to work in a pair with Becka. We were looking to contact local singers or a band to feature in our music video. We thought of a band from Barnsley called 'The Sherlocks' and are yet waiting for a reply. We thought this would be a great opportunity for them to promote themselves as a band. I have seen them live several times so if we to film them we would prefer them to sing live rather than mime and then act the track after in the editing of the video. We have also looked at various artist such as Jay Tyrer, who I have also seen live. Both artists have brilliant stage presence and would be perfect for filming. Both are also singer-songwriters so therefore we would not need copyright.

Genre
As too yet we haven't decided on a genre as we are not 100% decided on the artist or song. However we would both prefer to do pop/alternative as that is what we're both interested in.

Creativity - How will you build on skills from AS?
I will build on skills by using new programs such as Final Pro Cut X. I will learn how to edit a music video using this software.
